Weighing in on Weight Loss
Dieters have long searched for secret paths to easy weight loss. Soon enough, anyone trying to lose weight will discover a mind-boggling variety of weight loss plans, even some that appear to contradict others. The reason for this may be that that every person has a different set of factors to consider when starting a weight loss diet.
Individual differences in knowledge about food as well as differences in individual preferences make certain diets more appealing than others to each individual. Motivation and past experiences with dieting may make some people look for weight loss plans that are very scripted, while others will opt for more general information to apply to daily life.
One thing to remember when deciding how to go about losing weight is that there is no single best way to lose weight. There are, however, some basics common to all successful weight loss plans.
The basics of weight loss are simple.
To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you burn. Calories are burned through exercise or products that boost metabolism. Eating less, as well as choosing low calorie or low fat foods limits the number of excess calories that must be burned in order to lose weight. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to become educated about what foods and behaviors to choose.
Once you know the basics of good nutrition and exercise, you can develop a successful weight loss plan. The most successful weight loss efforts do not fall into place overnight. You will have to do some experimenting and careful research to find the method of weight loss that works best for you.

Weight Loss and Exercising Staying Power ? Three Magic Words!
My name is Greg Ryan. I am a best selling author of online e-books, high profile fitness expert, former employee of the Kathy Smith, champion bodybuilder and CEO. I wish we would have met twenty years ago when exercise and eating right found me. I had absolutely no discipline, confidence or personality. But what I did have was hope, faith, and pure motives. I can honestly say, "If exercise did not find me, I might be dead today."
Over the years, exercise and eating right has helped me incorporate three very important principles into my business world and my exercise career. It is these three principles that have taken a unmotivated, undisciplined, fat, low self esteem kid to a person that most would say has done very well. What are those principles? They are; consistency, variety and efficiency.
Chances are you will buy hundreds or even thousands of dollars in fitness fantasy land exercise and diet gimmicks over your life time. However, at the end of the day your success in losing weight and sticking to a program will always come back to these three principles.
CONSISTENCY:
Losing weight and sticking to your exercise program is hard work. It is long work. It is precise work. The question is, "Are you willing to put in your dues?" Are you going to be the Tortoise or the Hare? Stop kidding yourself by denying hard consistent work. Either you do or you go broke and go nuts with frustration.
VARIETY:
Most people stop weight loss and exercise programs because of boredom. Do you? Let’s face it, exercising and sacrificing taste for healthy food will never be the most comfortable thing to do, or the most exciting. However, longevity comes down to putting variety into the plan. Think ahead, make it interesting, set goals, and give yourselves rewards. Do what ever it takes to keep your mind fresh. If you do not, you will be a statistic.
EFFICIENCY
Have you ever thought more would be better? More time on a treadmill. Or cut out more fat in your diet? More is NOT always the better thing to do. Working smarter is! To be more efficient in your programs you may pre-plan your meals, set time frames to workouts, eat with your opposite hands, work larger muscle groups first or monitor your heart rate while you exercise. Work smarter in less time pays off more down the road.
There is no magic to losing weight. There are no hidden magic formulas to it all. It comes down to being consistent, changing things up, and being smart about it all.
For twenty two years these three principles have been the foundation of my life, in exercise and with business. Practice them and you to will live a heart filled life.
